About Our Cafe
Welcome to Gather 256. We are a cafe and art boutique in the WeCo district of Downtown York, PA. We serve a fresh, evolving menu of breakfast and lunch options, and create hand-crafted beverages from our full-service espresso bar.

We are more than just a restaurant.
We are here to build our community by providing spaces meant for meet-ups, meetings, and celebrations. We showcase artwork and the craftsmanship of local creatives and makers, and provide opportunities for our guests to engage with those makers. We are here to be stewards of our environment by using our resources carefully, and by composting, reusing, and recycling in-house. Mostly, we are here to create moments of joy by connecting people with one another.

Chef/Owner Sarah Cahill
Sarah began her career as a chef in the fast-paced kitchens of New York City while in culinary school at the famed French Culinary Institute. Seeking a place to slow down and connect with food and the environment, she moved to North Carolina. There she took the helm of the kitchen at Snowbird Mountain Lodge, an upscale resort in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains with a seasonal, daily-changing menu focusing on the bounty of the area.

Since then, she has worked as a chef instructor, personal chef, caterer, food stylist, and recipe developer in central Pennsylvania. Sarah loves to travel and seeks to share reflections on her life experiences through food. She loves to see the impact that a quality meal can have on one's day; the ability to connect with others through food is a value she cherishes.
